It’s mildy funny…

… that even a modicum of time spent amongst my fellow humans can take me from feeling quite chipper, to mildly affronted, to flat out disgruntled, to seething irritation all within an hour? I think that’s funny, in a morbid kind of way.
I don’t know what it is, but sometimes I just find people to be so extremely annoying. I was in town for about an hour last night, attempting to find something I needed – which I didn’t find, by the way – but was instead flocked by the annoying, slack-jawed, gawking masses, and their inane chatter. On the bus, two girls who I thought were university aged, talking about the party they were having that night – who the hell has a party in the middle of the week!? – and one asked the other if she was going to be drinking. For some reason, I turned around a moment later, only to realise these two girls were high school aged. Still in their school uniform… I thought, where the hell are your parents?
Later I am off the bus, making my way through a store, and trying to get past a group of unsavory characters who are taking up half the aisle whilst they stand their talking overly loud about practically nothing, and ignoring my pitiful efforts at moving around the pram they have so thoughtlessly placed directly on the other side of the aisle.
I thought to calm myself by going into a nice, quiet, book store, but no, that was no safe haven. The shop attendant asked if I needed anything specific, I said no I was just looking around… that all seemed fair enough, but then she followed me around the store… hovering, waiting, hoping I may purchase something… But I was so damn uncomfortable with this little strange woman following me around that I just got the hell out of there.
I think the look on my face was enough to keep anyone away from me for the rest of my sojourn into the outside world. Why do people have to be so rude, annoying, inconsiderate, oblivious, and moronic? Why can’t they practice being nice and quiet? Wouldn’t that be grand.
