Two things to talk about
By blog on Aug. 20, 2009.
I have two things I would like to talk about today. One good, one not so good. Here goes.
Firs off, I wanted to mention just how excellent it really is to have our bathroom finished… and electric showers are awesome. This thing is marvellous, no, it’s better than that, it’s bloody fantastic. My So and can sit in there for as long as we want because the water is heated as it comes through. Brand new shower enclosures are very nice, too, because when you get to pick it out, you get exactly the one that suits you!
This new bathroom… I’m spend so much time in there because it has such a pleasant atmosphere that I just don’t want to leave!
Of course, you have to take precautions that you don’t shower too much, because then your skin dries out and you end up constantly itchy. But if your showers aren’t too hot that shouldn’t happen.
Okay now onto something else, this is a bit of a rant and inspired totally by getting on here to write only to find 18, yes, that’s right, 18 spam comments! What the hell is with that? Why are there so many people running around posting gibberish posts full of links to damn pharmaceutical products? Who buys these things like that? Who thought this was a good idea in the first place, to go around spamming people’s blogs with advertisements for drugs? I find it infuriating and offensive.
Did you know that spam is actually adding to global warming? That there is so much spam being tossed around on the internet that in the last year it took up 33 billion kilowatt-hours of power, which is about the same as the power used in 2.1 million houses. That’s mind boggling, and that was only counting the 62 trillion junk emails, not all the nasty spam comments left on blogs. So please, if you leave spam comments, I understand you’re probably being paid a tiny pittance to do this, but please, don’t stop looking for more reputable work so that you can stop posting those comments on my blogs, I’m deleting them anyway, no one sees them but me, so please, stop posting them.
I hate you, spammers

Wow, my goodness. The spam I get these days. I never knew that a blogger had to spend so much time deleting spam. There is a Wiki page on it! I can’t believe this! I have been getting more and more spam in the last few months… It is honestly rather mind boggling to consider the amount of time wasted by people sending me spam.
Today for instance, I have received at least two spam emails, from people pretending to be wholesalers. And it is always either electronics wholesalers, or fashion wholesalers. Never anything else. I even get ones in which the sender’s name isn’t in English; as with one of the ones today the sender’s name was in Arabic. I am a little surprised my computer supports Arabic letters, as it doesn’t support Japanese or Chinese characters so a heck of a lot of Wiki pages have lots and lots of little question marks. And something else I notice about the spam I get in my inbox, not all of them are even addressed to me. No, some of them just have the first five letters of my email address right, the rest is all wrong, and yet I am still getting these piece of crap spam emails.
So today I jump on here to blog… 105 comments await me on one particular article… What the? I go and check them, and there are these huge wall o’ text of random gibberish, which is liberally peppered through with hyperlinked pharmaceutical names. My first question is what moron would actually think I am going to allow this crap to be published on my blog, and my second question is what other moron came up with the idea of it in the first place. I am fully aware of the fact that this is some upper-end moron paying another moron to post this crap as advertising, but I have to tell you, you are wasting your time upper-end moron, wasting your time.
Occasionally, when I notice the same email address repeatedly sending me spam, as with the ones I get which are pretending to be banks or PayPal asking to verify my logons via a specific link – yeah, you have a prayer, morons – I send them very nasty emails back. I tell them in very, very, nasty language to stop sending me spam. It works too. There are also authorities which you can pass this crap onto, who trace it, and threatening to do that in an email also usually works to get rid of the morons.
As a final note, to you spammers, phishing scammers, spamdexers, and general internet morons. I hate you. I cannot convey in the written word how loathing I am of you ‘people’. Stop wasting everyone’s time and just move on. Go troll on a World of Warcraft forum, you morons, and stay the hell away from my blog!
